Couple things right off the bat here:
1) You need to read/view my video blog post defining backlinks before you try to grasp this concept (beginners).
2) Many of you have asked me when I am gonna tell you how to get links, and I assure you it is coming. But I have to make sure you understand linking before I teach you all my methods. This is because getting links must be done carefully and methodically so you don’t waste time or effort. However, MAKE SURE you read all the way to the bottom here because I do share some very simple ways to get backlinks. These ways/methods are NOT gonna make you a superstar in the SERPS, but they are a start.
So let’s talk about link stacking. This concept is so very important because when you do get a link (especially a natural one) you def want to maximize that baby! If you stack, you can hedge your bets against losing the link as it ages and becomes lost or eliminated from the index. On the flip side, stacking can even strengthen the authority of the page the link is located on. Huh?
Watch the vid here: (BTW– if ads show up in the vid, that is because I am maxed out on my Viddler free bandwidth and THEY put the ads in there, not me. I get nothing from them)
I really hope that came across clearly in the vid. You need to stack links because first off, there is no risk to you! (yes, you can get ‘dinged’ for ‘building links’ in an un-natural fashion), but when someone else linked to you from a page, there really is no risk for them or you. In addition to that, stacking up links that come to you from authority sites can make them stronger faster. Basically guys, in real niches, natural links come very rarely so you need to play them up as much as possible. Of course, you can (and should) stack man-made links too.
There are many opportunities to stack links and you should take advantage of every one. Here is a short list of links that you can or will get that should be stacked:
1. Links you get from other blogs/sites
—Stack links from blogs that are higher authority than yours (higher PR).
—Stack links from blogs that are in your same niche regardless of authority
—Super stack links from blogs that are higher authority AND in your niche!
—Stack links from blogs that deep link to YOUR important internal pages.
You want to send some good quality links in this case, no spammy junk. If you get good natural links (which are rare in “real” niches), you want to stack them with good links in return. Good examples of links to stack here would be from places like Ezinearticles, GoArticles and ArticleDashboard. I would also send links from other high quality blogs that I just might happen to have access to. It also might be a good idea to send a link or two from one of your related HubPages or Squidoo lenses.
DO NOT recipricol link! That means DO NOT send a link back to the guy in return from your site. This lessens the juice on both links and just looks funky if you do it alot. Trust me, I am gonna talk a lot about “link spreading” in a couple more posts, but for now, just don’t recip! If you want the guy to know how appreciative you are of his natural link, just shoot him an email and show him your article submission pages or your Squidoo lense. He will be very happy that you went to all that trouble to send him a link as a “thank you.”
(FYI– I do lots of recip linking here on Blogger Illustrated because this is a social site and also a place for fun and experimentation…I am not monetized; this is not a money site! Always keep in mind that what I teach you here is in reference to real niche blogs or sites in the real world, not the Make Money Online world!!!!!)
2. Links you get by directory submission
This one is fairly straight forward. Just so you know, one of the first things I do with money sites is hire my buddy Jeet from Get Links Pro to submit my site to 1,000 directories. When you do this, you get confirmation from about 300 or so sites that actually show you where the live link is located. (many more of your submits get approved, but not all directory sites actually show you where the link is located on an individual page)
I save myself a little text file of all the exact locations where my directory link is housed and I send a few links to those pages. I don’t spend tons of time on this, but I do want my directory links to get indexed and stay indexed. I like to use basic bookmarking links for this task. There is a nice little piece of software called Book Marking Demon that can do this for you. Don’t ask me how to use it, however, as I ain’t got the time to teach ya! Learn everything about Book Marking Here. My friend Diane runs this site and she is the do-follow bookmarks queen! She actually will teach you how to ping your bookmarks so they get indexed too; very important!
Now listen up players: You are NOT gonna takeover the world of the Credit Card niche with bookmarking links. They are not designed to send your site to page one, position one! We (I) use bookmarking links for many purposes, and one of them is to get pages indexed and stay indexed. Keep this in mind!
3. Links you get from Squidoo, HubPages, Blogspot, Etc (man-made links LOL)
I hope it’s pretty obvious by now that you need to help support your money sites with freebies here and there. A very well put together Squidoo lense full of hot content, videos and other fluff can go a long way to anchoring a money site. But that Squidoo lense needs links stacked on top of it also. Get it? I did a video about building a mini network quite a while ago, but I it should help ya out!
Link stacking is an important part of any internet marketing campaign. Some of you should go ahead and quit right now because you are not willing to put in the time that it takes to fully market your quality site. Trust me, link stacking is just one way we help juice our good, well written, helpful, high quality King content!
I am sure there are questions/disagreements here, so please fire away… let’s get social boys and girls!

Okay, this is going to be a long nite. Imma have a beer and read and listen to your shizzle. If I gain, I’ll promote ya. If I don’t I’ll keep quiet. I’v heard a lot about you and want to learn. I have installed some new software from XSitePro2, familiar with it Allyn? If so tell me if it’s worth a shiz. I have been here before don’t get me wrong, I have just not invested past reading and listening to a few vids. But I am going to put some time in and give my honest opinion.
I shoot straight from the hip, the info dude will tell ya this, but I’m true and true to those that not only speak but walk the walk.

Yeah that’s more than fair, and we are a lot alike. cuz there is alot I don’t give a shit about, I just hope you didnt take my comment wrong. After looking it over it seems I may appeared to be speaking to you as ‘In I don’t give a shit’ not at all. My point was I’ve seen you visible from others not yourself, but others so that tells me you provide some value in what I’m tryin to do. If that get’s your goat, then your hogtied. otherwise take it for what it is.. a compliment..

I have never used xsitepro so I can’t tell you yeah or nay. I use almost exclusively Wordpress in my biz. I think you will find most of my readers and viewers are also WP junkies… maybe some Joomla and Drupal hackers in here too.
Can I say one more thing, my comments must not be valuable to you, you’ve never replied back..
I’m still listening though cause I’m a nobody starting from the bottom surpassing those on top.. look for me in the future bro. I’ll buy you a cold one. or two……..

Hmm, never seen you comment here prior. but you got two differing links in the do-follow blogger luv section, which does make you appear suspicious, but it’s all good anyway.
suspicious? no not meant that way. Is it not allowed? If I’m gonna spread the luv why keep leaving the same ole shiz.. jus sayin

it’s cool. I was more addressing your comment that I don’t respond to you. You see, once you get one approved comment here, they tend to not need moderating. But your two comments showed up for moderation, which tells me you have not commented here before. just sayin…
What ever ….I had commented on here several times b4 but that was my point…guess your moderation deleted them b5…b5 or b3 jus sayin..quit using my …jus sayin. that’s my words…jus sayin
And I know about moderation and comments, it ain’t the first time or what not.. that I’ve commented…pppfft!

However, Like I say don’t want that to be the or an issue. It’s to let you know since you responded I never been here before or commented that I have and do. I’m learning from you and will continue to make your site a visible one for my benefit and my readers.

Hey Allyn, I just wanted to drop by again to give my thoughts on something. I’ve noticed that on one of my sites, I’ve had alot of posts deindexed. About 20 or something. When I looked up what’s going on, it looks as though blogcatalog gets credit for some of my posts, because they have more authority. I guess what I’m saying is, if your site hasn’t reached authority I wouldn’t put it on blogcatalog. I made the mistake of adding it to there in the beginning. I don’t know what the effect would be for removing my site from blogcatalog. I know they are nofollow, but for some reason they show up as counted links in my webmaster tools. Any suggestions Allyn?
Hi Red,
Blog Cat is pulling off your RSS feed and pulling title and prolly the first few lines. If they are out-ranking you, then you def have no authority yet.
Blog Cat doesn’t really help or hurt you in terms of links.
I don’t use Webmaster tools, so I am not sure if it looks at no-follow links or not.
The way to get and keep your pages indexed is to send links to them. If you do that, then you will outrank the blog cat stuff also.
You also may consider adding internal link structure to help with indexing. I use a plugin called “If You Like That” and it will link up related posts at the bottom of each or your articles. This helps keep pages indexed also.
Yeah, they outrank me for some posts, not all of them though. They definitely don’t outrank me when the new post is on my homepage, it’s only after they drop into the previous posts area that some get outranked. Or I should say hit with duplicate content type deal. The posts that would be missing would only be found if the searchers clicked “repeat the search with the omitted results included.”
Yeah, linking is a kind of art.
A couple of tips from me:
Temporarily linking out from your blog roll to a content rich blog in your niche that is not a famous blog but has traffic may secure you a back link from them that will result in life-long extra traffic. You are under no obligation to link forever to them since you recommended them to your visitors first.
You can take this further by surprising the pants off a blogger by doing a review of their blog without telling them. I did this before and it worked nicely.

I like Andrew’s idea and see how it could have some merit, but I have to wonder how frequently he sees other sites offer to give him a link because he wrote about them or their site.
How often does this technique work for you Andrew?

Quick question, has anyone ever seen a hubpage deindexed?
Nevermind that previous question. Can’t wait to see more videos Allyn, or posts for that matter.
Dang, I just visited the Problogger.net blog with the intention to plant a relevant comment there to siphon off a few visitors, but he has a thesis of a post. I don’t want to abuse his site without reading and understanding the post, but how many of us have the free time to read and digest the epic posts from the preacher man?
Allyn, what should do we do in relation to infiltrating the pro-blogger sites?
So hopefully my comment is loosely related to bank-link stacking maybe?

Hi, Allyn
I have a quick question re: ezine articles and the like. When I started my site, didn’t know about the link stacking and the articles I wrote a while back dropped off.
If I add a few links in my hubpages contents to point to them, can I resuscitate them? Or are they just dead and I have to start over with new articles (and stack this time)
that is a great question, and yes, you can get them re-indexed by sending fresh links to them. Don’t send a whole lot fast, just a couple over a 2 or 3 day span should do it!
AL
Hi Allyn, I saw your “building a mini network”- and- first of all- thanks! I watched it a few times taking notes.
Also, what does it mean that after writing 10 articles on your main blog it will get “pinged.” Thanks
My God. I don’t think Shakespeare would have agonized over the odds like this. If you can write something that is worth its weight in gold then do so. Otherwise why bother? I know a bit about AI and I’m certain Google do too. God knows everything doesn’t he Allyn? Nothing is secret from him. I step into the ring and pray beforehand cos I know my life is on the line (or my health at least). Blogging is a misnomer. A feint. Its the medium of the moment. In 50 years there will be no internet. It will be replaced by something we cant even imagine yet, just as our forebears could not imagine what we have now. But at the same time there is nothing new under the sun. Links – sphynx – its all a riddle. Speak to your inner man. Cos if he’s listening you’ve connected with the spirit. Screw Google. They should consider themselves lucky you’re sharing your insights with them. Peace.

Have you ever wondered about the domination of these internet firms that we are trying to get to listen to us? Its a bit like American democracy. You have very little choice – 2 in fact. Blue and red. Like the pills in the Matrix. With the internet though, small people cannot be heard talking about anything major. We can only be heard speaking about micro-issues. Leave the big subjects to the big players. You won’t stand a chance. Go stand in a small dark corner and try and get those folks to listen. I liked your Fear of Google post Allyn. I think you should have gone a lot further. Google is a model of the New World Order!!! Is it conditioning us to submit to its protocols? Is it a tool of the elite to hone our previous rebeliious attitudes, and give us an authority figure? I bet most of you respect it more than your political and civic leaders. It needs a kick in the teeth. Stop worshipping it. Time to tear down the Asherah pole. Where’s Osama?
Daren´s last blog ..Weight Training for MMA
I do know for a fact this does work. I thought I was the first one to come up with this idea. I do recommed this but mainly for the pages you made yourself on different ip address. So blogger, squidoo, ezine articles .etc. When you do this you are using effort for something that is going to pay off. Sometimes if you do this method for a search term that is not too competitive you can be on the first page 6 times. Your ezine article your squidoo .etc . Which I would think if 5 results from the first page or pointing to one page with that anchor text the page there linking to should be first. Because each of those sites google thinks they are strong enough and relevant enough for that term. Which should get your money site a #1 ranking. Also talk about making a presense. Plus think of what the searcher is thinking at the time when they do the search. If they see you six times on the first page. You look like the MAN for that term and the one that is clearly the best fit for what they are looking for. And if google recommended you six times well you must have the best product or information.
