The ass-hats of social media are at it again! They are predicting that Twitter is the next “Blah Blah Blah” and “Yadda Yadda Yadda Yadda.”

I love this shizzy cuz the noobs flock to the “big swinging dicks” of Twitter (those with excess of 20,000 followers) like flies on day-old dog poopy and buzz around soaking up the funk! I think just today I have read that Twitter is going to replace Google, RSS Feeds and Facebook, all before lunch time tonorrow. One ass-hat also had the nerve to send out a blasted affiliate link to another of that Frank Kern scammer’s “buy my holy shit get rich in a box package for $1,997 before they sell out” things.

I love that Frank Kern guy; he rips people off with his re-hashed BS “copywriting coupled with brainwashing” course in a box or whatever the hell it is… yeah, I wanna be like that! In fact, I wanna be like the jerkweed Twitter gurus who send/Tweet out his affiliate links every day. LMAO!

Anyway, since it seems so easy to be an authority in the Twitter world (just get a bunch of drones to follow you and give you virtual felacio) I figured I would make a prediction of my own: that being that Twitter will soon replace toilet paper. Afterall, Twitter is “cleaning up” and consolidating everything in 140 characters or less, right?

Follow me now, follow me all, you Twitter robots!

For the record: I really like Twitter as a social platform. You can meet great people there and you DON’T have to stuff affiliate links up their rears! I like to connect with real people on Twitter, Like Wayne John from Blogger Help: cool SoCal cat this guy, like-minded methinks.

I also think it is a great place for big businesses to connect with and stay in touch with, their customers. But as far as internet marketers (you and me) making money there: don’t waste your time… unless you are a scammer!

    Hi Allyn

    Love your stuff so far.

Johnny Hates Jazz – there’s a name !’d forgotten but you obviously have great musical taste – The Church ROOOOOOOOL!

Anyway, just started my link building campaign in earnest over here in the UK and it is hard, hard, hard work.

Keep up the inspirational vids – it’s a real treat to know there are ohters with the same philosophy out there.

    Cheers

      Hadi,
I am really happy that you are getting something out of my vids (including the good music) ;) . If I can be of any help to you, please let me know!

You should post your Link Building Playlist. Your completely right, twitter is becoming an epidemic. We may have to do something about it. Keep up the videos!

I think I just figured out how Twitter will monetize.

It will be by charging membership fees to all these people who can’t seem to live without Twitter. ROTFL!!

No product. Just a bunch of addicted twits. LOL!!

    :-)

Thanks for the link love Allyn. I must say that I’ve met more people through twitter than going from blog to blog like I used to do.

As for the many, many marketers that are on Twitter, I generally ignore them. Sure, I’ll follow. But what I’m really doing is checking to see if they are doing anything unique that I might be able to pick up on.

I’ve already learned enough to make me feel slimy without a single sales pitch.

I could, however, see twitter becoming one with email, or even supplanting it in the coming years. Take a few modifications, but it seems the social conscious might be accepting of it.

    Cheers!

I gotta say, I have yet to give in to the Twitter craze, and I don’t plan on it, lol. I started with Facebook and I like that more than enough than to switch and learn another social network which is more geared towards wasting time and not using your time efficiently, hahaha.

Anyway, I have a question or two – clearly all part-time/full-time IMers work on building links the majority of the time – if you had to put a percentage on the amount of time and effort you spend on building links manually vs. using automated software, what would be your breakdown? I feel like building them manually would be way too time consuming (especially if you have 20+ sites), but then again I don’t have a ton of experience so I’d love to get your opinion.

The reason I ask is because I’ve dabbled with sports betting the past few months (mainly NFL playoffs and the NCAA tourney), and I’m up about $200… instead of just cashing out and using this for beer (LMAO), I’d really like to try out a few pieces of software. I think UAW might be a little bit out of my price range for the monthly subscription, but I was looking into Article Marketer and a few linking networks (BS and LV). I’ve also scoped out NBN and noticed your video on there. So I’d love to know what you have experience with/what you might recommend. Like I mentioned in a previous comment, my time will be very limited for the next few months so I’d love to automate anything I can and maybe gain some authority/PR/SERP results before I truly have many hours a day to dedicate to this effort.

Thanks so much for your help :)

P.S. Don’t worry about what your son says, lol… I used to diss my pops all the time on his music, and now I listen to almost all of it (Pink Floyd, Boston, etc.). I’ve been trying to learn guitar in my free time (without lessons) and my music tastes have become much more broad. Even if I don’t like a particular kind of music, I can appreciate musicianship. It’s that Britney Spears/50 Cent bullshit that I can’t stand when people think it’s great, lol. My favorite bands are pretty eclectic, and most of my friends don’t dig them at all. But I know they are sweet so I don’t care!

    • Allyn says:

      @ Wayne
THanks for stopping in bro! I look forward to your Tweets! ROFL!!! :)

      @ Ray
I am going to make a series of vids on many of your questions, but I will answer some now for you. First off, if you have limited money, I would buy a lifetime membership to Article Marketer. I paid $275 several years ago and it may have gone up in price now, however, you used to be able to game them by pressing the button to buy a 6-month membership and they would give you a massive discount to upgrade to lifetime. Dunno if that loophole still exists but that is what I did. Now, the reason I say “go lifetime” with them is that I HATE paying monthly recurring fees for stuff like that. I’d rather bite the bullet and spend the money now. Anyway, Article Marketer has had a series of issues over the last months, but I feel like they have it working really well again and response times and distro is good. I usually get about 25-30 links from each submission and they do submit to the bigger diretories like Ezine. IMO, AM is the best investment for limited money.
As far as Niche Blogging Network: that is not a linking thing. NBN provides content on a variety of subjects each month. I like NBN because I can’s always come up with articles to submit to AM. I usually don’t use NBN articles on my money sites, but I use them for article marketing and stuff like that. I always make sure to rewrite the NBN articles at least 25%.
as far as manual link building: I don’t do that at all. I just don’t have the time.

BTW, great program for sharing tunes from multiple computers or with friends – Simplify Media. My entire iTunes playlist is on my PC at home, and now I can listen to it from anywhere with an internet connection. Works with WinAmp, too. One of the best software finds I’ve had this year, lol.

  7. Max says:

I kind of regret buying lifetime at Article Marketer.

At the time it was the best in the game, and there was absolutely no hint that anything better would come along.

Perhaps it was just my niche, but I’ve gotten very few links out of each article as compared to what people say about UAW.

The Article Marketer intake reviewers seem to have strong ideas about what category an article might belong in, and they’ll reject it til you do what they tacitly suggest. I could submit an article about problems with being healthy, and they’d come back and tell me it was not in the health category.

The way I got around their category police, was to finally write titles and articles specifically around the categories. That would lead to bizarre articles like “Acne Cure helpful for automotive, exercise, and relationship concerns”… LOL!

Additionally, one of their known weaknesses at AM is customer service.

    Just my experience.

If you can’t afford UAW now, maybe try Article Marketer for a month and decide if AM lifetime is worth it to you.

  8. I have acquired a lot of new followers on twitter over the last few weeks – maybe if you blog about SBI this happens I have no idea! Most of them are probably hanging out for my viral marketing tips LMAO – which just goes to show that twitter is going nowhere fast! I rarely follow them back because I can’t find the interesting tweets then – I have wade thru all the marketing bullshit (sorry if the language is offensive!)
BTW the viddler video streamed a 1000x better than vimeo – thanks!

    • Allyn says:

      Hey Lis,
glad you can see the Viddler better! I will keep it on there as they seem to take the upload faster too!
I actually love Twitter, but that is because I wanna be the next Gary Vaynerchuk! LOL (just not as pretty as him, and I will know SEO for real too ;) )
      someday…maybe!

  9. Vu Tong says:

    Ha-ha, I couldn’t agree with you more!

All this hype about twitter being the next marketing tool, that’s being spread around by these prologgers… is complete crap.

The “success” these people are claiming to have is not because they went on twitter, but it’s because they went on Twitter with an already established reader base. This prove nothing except their blog readers decided to join twitter and follow along their favorite blogger.

I recently tried debunking the hype by asking one of these “gurus” who’s spouting tips left and right. He responded by saying it is because I’m “not doing it right”. In return, I issued him a challenge to create an entirely new blog, without ever promoting it on any of his existing site. From here, I would like to see the result from marketing on twitter as a brand new blogger and how effective it is, despite the hype built around it.

Will let you know if he’ll actually act upon it.

    • Allyn says:

yes, I would be very interested to see this “guru” try to make money on Twitter.
Funny thing, even if he does grow it, it will take double or triple the time as it would to draw targeted organic traffic to a blog

  10. So basically success is how many followers you have on twitter – like building traffic to get lots of traffic – neither approach seems to guarantee you any cash in your pocket!

  11. Vu Tong says:

Basically, but don’t make the mistake of considering these as quality traffic. As a new blogger, going by the tips of these gurus, I noticed something not mentioned elsewhere: Unless you’re famous, the people following you won’t even bother reading your updates! Let’s say you’re following 500+ people. Logging onto Twitter, you would be greeted with probably over a thousand updates. How many of you have enough time on your hand to sit through and read at least 50% of that?

The only winner here is Twitter. Look how fast their pagerank climbed.

  12. Max says:

When a guru has the tribe do stuff like Twitter, it leaves more room for marketers (maybe even the guru himself) to be making money online.

The “Twittees” are happy in their “guru-diversion for the masses”, and are neatly eliminated from the functional world of internet marketers (since they never effectively learn internet marketing).

Yes, indeed-y, I can see that Twitter has a place in the scheme of things. ROTFL!!!

  13. Vu Tong says:

    Hi Allyn,

Just wanted to update you on that problogger. Obviously he’s not going to take the challenge because he knows he can’t do it. And if he did, you would be right, it would take way longer.

To protect his credibility, what did he do instead? He created a blog post about my conversation with him and is subtly inviting support from his drone readers. In read his post, find it here: http://www.davidrisley.com/2009/03/30/twitter-useless/

(Please feel free to edit out that link if this is inappropriate)

  14. Allyn says:

the link is fine Vu. I have read David Risley before and he seems like a decent guy. I am glad he is on Twitter and doing well, but you can bet he doesn’t count on Twitter for his income. He has other projects that target real visitors… he is just not telling you that.

  15. Vu Tong says:

Yeah, he’s a fine writer and marketer.

But by reading that post, too many will be going down the wrong road. Putting all their eggs into marketing on Twitter, when in fact they should be doing things that count: SEO & backlinks.
