Yeah, he's a fine writer and marketer.

But by reading that post, too many will be going down the wrong road. Putting all their eggs into marketing on Twitter, when in fact they should be doing things that count: SEO & backlinks.

the link is fine Vu. I have read David Risley before and he seems like a decent guy. I am glad he is on Twitter and doing well, but you can bet he doesn't count on Twitter for his income. He has other projects that target real visitors... he is just not telling you that.

Hi Allyn,

Just wanted to update you on that problogger. Obviously he's not going to take the challenge because he knows he can't do it. And if he did, you would be right, it would take way longer.

To protect his credibility, what did he do instead? He created a blog post about my conversation with him and is subtly inviting support from his drone readers. In read his post, find it here: http://www.davidrisley.com/2009/03/30/twitter-useless/

When a guru has the tribe do stuff like Twitter, it leaves more room for marketers (maybe even the guru himself) to be making money online.

The "Twittees" are happy in their "guru-diversion for the masses", and are neatly eliminated from the functional world of internet marketers (since they never effectively learn internet marketing).

Yes, indeed-y, I can see that Twitter has a place in the scheme of things. ROTFL!!!

Basically, but don't make the mistake of considering these as quality traffic. As a new blogger, going by the tips of these gurus, I noticed something not mentioned elsewhere: Unless you're famous, the people following you won't even bother reading your updates! Let's say you're following 500+ people. Logging onto Twitter, you would be greeted with probably over a thousand updates. How many of you have enough time on your hand to sit through and read at least 50% of that?

The only winner here is Twitter. Look how fast their pagerank climbed.
